Do you ever sign up for something and then wonder if it was the best idea?
We applied for nine high end Howard Alan Event outdoor fine art shows in south Florida between January and April 2023. While we were honored to be accepted into seven coveted events, we chose our three favorites and went for it. I have great respect for the artists that show their work in the art show circuit on a regular basis. It is hard work and not for the faint of heart.
The highlight of our experience was we met thousands of people and had a chance to introduce my work to the public. I received a lot of positive feedback, especially regarding my ocean series, and multiple comments regarding possible commissions.
We ended our "show season" with the International Network of Creatives (INC) Arts Conference in Naples, Florida last weekend. I had the opportunity to show my work as well as participate in a panel at the end of the conference, while my wife assisted in the production of the Friday evening concert. What an amazing experience to be around professional creatives, musicians, and artists from all over the world.
I have been a part of the INC for the past couple years; however, this is the first time I participated in an event. The lectures and workshops were excellent and left me wanting more! I look forward to future opportunities to work with and be a part of the INC. If you have a chance, check out their website www.incconference.org. It's a fantastic group to be connected with if you are an artist, musician, writer, dancer, etc.
While all these things I "signed up for" seemed questionable, I would not trade the experiences. This first quarter of 2023 has been busy and full of adventure. It has felt good to be connected with my viewers once again.
And so.... "that's a wrap!"
